Silesian University researcher’s project co-funded by the National Programme for the Development of the Humanities

The project ‘Critical editing of letters and archival stationery of prisoners of concentration camps (Stutthof, Gross-Rosen, Auschwitz)’ by Dr Lucyna Sadzikowska, Professor at the University of Silesia’s Faculty of Humanities, has been selected for funding under the National Programme for the Development of the Humanities.

The primary objective of the project is the scientific study of a unique source resource, significant for the Polish cultural heritage, its protection, dissemination and inclusion in the living tradition of national culture. The material basis for the research are texts written by prisoners of concentration camps (Stutthof, Gross-Rosen, Auschwitz). 

The project aims to transcribe, translate from German, compile and provide with a critical, historical-philological apparatus and bilingual publication of a set of letters, documents, as well as preserved other non-textual personal documents.
