Best works on the protection of historical monuments and museology awarded

The King Jan III Sobieski Palace Museum in Warsaw hosted a ceremony to present awards and distinctions in the General Conservator of Monuments and the Association of Conservators of Monuments Competition for the best study, scientific and popularisation works concerning the protection of monuments and museology 2023.

The aim of the Competition is to attract young academics and researchers to the issues of historic monument protection and museology. It is open only to candidates who are not independent academics.

Fifty-one theses were submitted for the competition included 12 doctoral theses, 36 master’s theses, 1 postgraduate thesis, 1 engineering thesis and 1 popularisation thesis. 

Eight prizes were awarded to: Maciej Baran, Anna Czerwińska-Walczak, Agnieszka Koronowska (all from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw), Łukasz Bednarz from Wrocław University of Technology, Bożena Boba-Dyga from Krakow University of Technology, Piotr Lasik from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Anna Litwin from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow and Kinga Migalska from Jagiellonian University in Krakow.
