The ESA BIC Incubator has started its operations in the Podkarpacie region, which will use space technologies in various sectors of the economy and support the development of entrepreneurship. The incubator started functioning in the Podkarpackie Science and Technology Park ‘Aeropolis’ in Jasionka.

The incubator in Jasionka is the 27th such venture of the ESA BIC, which is creating a network of incubators in Europe using national funds and funding from the European Space Agency. As a result, start-ups participating in the incubation process will have a chance to commercialise their ideas.

During the incubator’s inauguration, an agreement was signed for the project ‘Satellite data and spatial data infrastructure for evidence-based regional management’, which will be implemented under the Interreg Europe 2021-2027 programme. The signatories of the agreement were: marshal of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship Władysław Ortyl, rector of the Rzeszów University of Technology Professor Piotr Koszelnik and president of the Polish Space Agency Professor Grzegorz Wrochna.
