A team from the Poznań University of Technology (PP) took third place in the 11th international Formula 1/10 competition. The final with the participation of 22 teams from Europe, Asia and North America was held during the International Conference on Robotics and Automation in London.
On the first day of the competition, practice sessions were held during which the track could be tested. In the qualification, the fastest lap time and the number of rounds driven without a collision.
Based on the results of the training sessions, a grid was prepared for the main competition, which was held in a knockout system. In this part, two cars race on the track and have to complete eight laps of the track as quickly as possible. The cars can overtake each other, but collisions with the track and with the opponent’s car are penalised.
The Poznan team was only overtaken by the Vienna University of Technology (2nd place) and ETH Zurich (1st place). In the battle for the final, the Poznan team lost to ETH Zurich and in the competition for 3rd place they won against a team from Nagoya University.
