Inventions from the Lublin University of Technology (PL) “Rotary casting mold clamp” and “System and method of controlling a transformer with a kinetic store” won silver medals at the International Invention Show in Geneva.
The University informs, that the innovation of the clamp of the mold for rotary casting allows to adjust the spacing of the arms to casting molds of various external dimensions, what enables to improve and increase the production efficiency of products obtained with the rotary casting technology. This method is used to produce large-size products: water or oil tanks, waste containers, home sewage treatment plants, canoes, separators, road barriers.
The solution for a mechanical transformer system with a built-in kinetic energy storage is a breakthrough solution because it can replace a classic energy transformer used to power single-family houses, factories and other facilities that require electricity.
Thanks to the possibility of accumulating energy in the transformer system, its flow can be flexibly managed. The invention is an alternative to expensive, emergency and environmentally unfriendly electrochemical warehouses, such as lithium-ion batteries – argues Łukasz Kwaśny from the Department of Electric Drives and Machines.
