The University of Economics in Katowice (EU) has received funding from the National Academic Exchange Agency for the project ‘International Centre of Research Excellence in Transition of COal REgions (ExCORE)’, which aims to create conditions for networking of international research teams and conducting joint research in the area of green transition of coal regions.
The main activities are the conduct of four research tasks on green transformation, the organisation of workshops and mentoring sessions to improve the research competences of academic staff, the exchange of staff and students in connection with the research, and the dissemination of results through the preparation of publications and conferences.
EU partners are the University of Bari Aldo Moro and the University of Verona (Italy), the VBS-Technical University of Ostrava (Czech Republic) and the Technical University of Kosice (Slovakia). As an external partner, the University of Essex (UK) will also support the project activities.
