University of Gdansk’s team of researchers is co-developing an international project that aims to facilitate the work of nursing staff with paediatric patients, reduce the tension and anxiety that children experience during hospitalisation, and provide caregivers with tools to manage children’s emotions and prepare them for necessary actions in the hospital environment.

The Mobile App project is a collaboration between Turku University of Applied Sciences (Finland) and Karolinska University Hospital (Sweden). It offers a unique solution in the form of an app that prepares children for hospital visits and medical procedures and helps them to understand their situation.

Children often experience fear of hospitals and medical procedures because they are unfamiliar with the environment and the equipment used. This can make it difficult for staff to carry out activities that require children to remain calm.
