University of Silesia and the city of Jaworzno to cooperate in the experimental use of biomass pellets

The University of Silesia in Katowice (UŚ), the Municipal Cultural and Sports Center in Jaworzno and the Jaworzno City Commune have signed a cooperation agreement. The document was signed by Vice-Rector for International and National Cooperation at the University of Silesia, Prof. Tomasz Pietrzykowski, director of the Municipal Cultural and Sports Center in Jaworzno Sebastian Kuś and president of Jaworzno Paweł Silbert.

The agreement concerns cooperation in scientific research, didactic activity, organization and promotion of events addressed to the public, as well as, in particular, the experimental production and use of energy pellets from biomass as part of the project carried out by the Center for Biomass Energy Research and Education at the University of Silesia.

The aim of the university is to conduct and promote dynamic and interdisciplinary research on energy from biomass by strengthening cooperation between scientists and industry.
