University of Silesia to start cooperation with the Silesian Association of Beekeepers in Katowice

The University of Silesia will cooperate with the Silesian Association of Beekeepers in Katowice. The cooperation will primarily concern conducting joint scientific and didactic projects – in particular the organization of the Scientific Beekeeping Conference as well as scientific and didactic activities on beekeeping topics.

The agreement was signed by the president of the Silesian Association of Beekeepers Zbigniew Binko, a member of the board Dr Eng. Wiesław Londzin and Vice-Rector for international and national cooperation Dr Tomasz Pietrzykowski, Prof. University of Silesia.

The Silesian Association of Beekeepers in Katowice is an independent beekeeping organization, gathering 2,570 beekeepers in 67 local clubs. Since 2010, he has been a member of Apimondia – the International Organization of Beekeeping Unions, associating 81 national beekeeping associations of the world, based in Rome. Beekeepers of the Silesian Association have 42 563 bee families.
