University of Warmia and Mazury to launch psychology faculty

15.11.2019

The University of Warmia and Mazury (UWM) in Olsztyn from the academic year 2020/21 will launch psychology as a new field of study at the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Professor Jerzy Przyborowski, Vice-Rector for Education and UWM Students, emphasizes that the University has a great chance to establish a new field.

-Discussions about creating a psychology course have been taking place at our University for a long time. The current deputy minister Prof. Wojciech Maksymowicz supported this initiative. First of all demand for psychologists with various specialties is high, secondly, every good university has psychology, and thirdly, we have excellent staff at the Faculty of Social Sciences, firmly anchored in the environment of psychologists – argues Prof. Przyborowski.

The coordinator of the course and a member of the team developing the education program is Dr Beata Krzywosz-Rynkiewicz, Prof. of UWM, a member of the presidium of the board of the Polish Psychological Association.
