Opole University of Technology hits record in inventions submitted to the Patent Office

26.01.2021

In 2020, scientists of the Opole University of Technology submitted 33 inventions to the Patent Office. A year earlier, there were 17 such applications, and two years ago only 9.

Last year’s patents include lighting control system in the room so that it directly influences the well-being of the person staying in it by reducing sleepiness, increasing concentration or introducing into a state of relaxation. The control system is connected to the electroencephalograph recording the brain’s bioelectric activity, which continuously adjusts the lighting parameters to the profile selected by the user.

Another patented invention is an electro-adhesive pad. Connected to high voltage, it generates an electrostatic field, which creates a force that attracts the tested object to it. Such devices are used in industry to carry, catch and attract various elements, and in agriculture they are used to collect fruit.
