Success of scientists from the Silesian University of Technology in the M-ERA-NET2 network competition

18.03.2021

Scientists from the Silesian University of Technology headed by Dr Eng. Magdalena Barbara Jabłońska became the laureate of the competition organized by the M-ERA.NET 2 network, financing research in the field of materials science and materials engineering.

The NanoBainControl project: “Accelerated nanobainite transformation in low-alloy steels shaped in multi-stage forging processes” concerns the development of an online computing system, the so-called a digital twin of the forging process, which will control the furnaces, manipulator robot, press and measuring system in real time, leading to the production of steel forgings with nanobainite microstructure using the heat of forging.

The works will be carried out in a consortium with partners from Germany and Poland – the Plastic Processing Institute TU Bergakademie Freiberg and the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow.
