The University of Silesia in Katowice was nominated in the Innovator of Silesia 2020 competition in the category of research and development sector institutions. University submitted two inventions developed at the faculty of science and technology – a device for selective gas phase collection and storage and improved swimming fins.

The competition is organized for the twelfth time by the Górnośląska Agencja Przedsiębiorczości i Rozwoju, as part of the “Enterprise Europe Network” project. Its purpose is to popularize science and promote the activities of entities from the Silesian Voivodeship.

The jury of the competition nominated 20 companies and institutions of the research and development sector, in which experts will carry out technological audits. The organizers emphasized, that the submitted solutions presented the surprising use of materials as well as various thematic levels and were diversified in terms of scale and usefulness.
