21.10.2021

The University of Warsaw (UW) as the first university in Poland joined the “Race to Zero” initiative supported by the United Nations. The organizations involved in the campaign declare to take immediate action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by half by 2030.

The “Race to Zero” campaign brings together companies, cities, regions, as well as educational, financial and health institutions with a common goal – to create and implement transparent action plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, in line with the Paris Agreement.

In the face of climate change and its challenges, the Rector’s team for ecology and the climate crisis of the University of Warsaw has prepared a document presenting the strategic “milestones” that the university wants to achieve in the coming years. The “Agenda for the Climate and Sustainable Development” refers to the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the United Nations.
