This ultramodern microscopic system works at the Faculty of Biotechnology at the University of Wrocław. It was created jointly by the giants of the optical market: Zeiss and Leica companies. This high-resolution microscopy system cost 6.5 million PLN.
The equipment was purchased as part of the Initiative of Excellence – Research University IDUB project) financed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The system will serve not only employees and doctoral students of the Faculty of Biotechnology, but also other scientists. There is no such microscopic system in Poland yet and there are only 160 similar solutions in the world.
The device is already being used to study the structures of potential new drugs, scientists are also observing the cellular location of individual molecules and using the fluorescence lifetime imaging module. Scientists from all over Europe are expressing the willingness to use this equipment.
