The Poznan University of Technology team took 3rd place in the Formula 1/10 Autonomous Grand Prix Germany 2022 competition. In the battle for the lowest step of the podium, the Poznan team beat the HiPeRT Lab team from Modena, Italy. This is the first start of the Poznań University of Technology team in this competition.
The competition began with qualifications. They consisted of autonomous time trial of a 1:10 scale car and driving as many laps as possible without collisions, in a set time. On the basis of the qualifying, a sequence of races was set up in which two cars competed. The car that completed the set number of laps faster in an autonomous manner won the race. Progression to the next knockout round required winning two races.
In the first round, the Poznań University of Technology team won against a team from the Prague University of Technology. In the next round, it was defeated by a team from the Swiss Federal Polytechnic University of Zurich – the eventual winner of the entire competition.
