University of Lodz involved in designing a food policy for Europeans

25.10.2022

The University of Lodz (UŁ) has joined the international research project Food systems that support transitions to healthy and sustainable diets – FEAST (‘Food systems supporting sustainable lifestyle choices and diets’), funded by the EU Horizon Europe programme.

Researchers will analyse the eating behaviour of different social groups in order to identify and design new food and health policies in the face of climate change and technological progress. The consortium, set up for five years, brings together as many as 35 partners from 15 EU member states.

In the FEAST project, the partners decided to take a comprehensive approach to the challenge of analysing the nutritional behaviour of vulnerable social groups.

The Łódź team will focus on seniors, their dietary patterns and special dietary needs. The aim of the project, in addition to the research, education and training dimension, is to develop recommendations in the field of food policy, particularly in relation to care institutions for the elderly in Poland.
